Sport is taken very seriously in the Rhein-Neckar Metropole region. Our athletes are writing sporting history in the most varied of disciplines, in particular Boris Becker and Steffi Graf, but also gymnast Elisabeth Seitz (gymnast of the year, 2009), Matthias Steiner (World Champion weightlifter) and Sebastian Vettel (Formula 1).
This enthusiasm for sport is illustrated practically on a daily basis by the many sport centres, training locations and, of course, matches and tournaments. Some of the sporting venues have become legendary in their own right:

If you want to do sport yourself, then make the most of the following during your free time in Walldorf:
- Walldorf's swimming pool complex, 15000m² total indoor and outdoor pool area, beach volleyball courts, miniature golf, only 5 minutes by foot from the Astralis Hotel Domizil;

- Walldorf Airfield

- Horse riding at the Riding and Racing Club (Reit- und Rennverein Walldorf e.V.) for beginners and experienced riders, hacks out into the Walldorf and Schwetzingen woods; Tel. 06227-62022
- Skateboard park, Walldorf on Bürgermeister-Willinger-Strasse, open daily during the week until 9pm, and until 10pm at the weekend
- Cycle path network, for example, alongside the woods to Schwetzingen; (borrow a bike from us free-of-charge) – also suitable for inline skates;
